Frequently Asked Questions about Memorial QR Codes

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is a Memorial QR Code?

A Memorial QR Code is a small metal plate that you attach to a headstone, urn, or plaque. When someone visits the grave, they can scan the code with their phone camera. It instantly opens a beautiful webpage dedicated to your loved one. This page shows their photos, videos, obituary, and life story. It is a simple way to bridge the gap between a stone monument and the memories that make a person special.

Is there a monthly fee or subscription?

No. We believe you should not have to pay a monthly fee to keep a memory alive. When you buy a Beyond This Stone plate, you pay once. The digital profile is free for as long as our service exists. There are no hidden costs to keep the page active.

Do I need an app to scan it?

No. Most smartphones can scan our codes using just the regular camera app. Visitors do not need to download anything to view the memorial page.

Installation & Durability

Will the plate fall off or rust?

We built this to last a very long time. Our plates are made from anodized aluminum which is a special type of metal that is very tough. It does not rust even in rain or snow. It handles freezing winters and hot summers without an issue. The code is laser etched into the metal so the sun will not bleach it out.

How do I attach it to the headstone?

It is very simple and takes less than two minutes. Each plate comes with industrial strength adhesive tape already on the back. You simply clean the spot on the stone with the included wipe, peel the backing off the tape, and press the plate firmly onto the stone. Once it sets, it forms a permanent bond that is extremely difficult to remove.

What surfaces does it stick to?

Our adhesive works on almost any smooth and dry surface. This includes granite and marble headstones, metal urns, glass, ceramic, and sealed wood or park benches.

What is the warranty?

We offer a ten year warranty. If your QR code fades, cracks, or stops scanning due to natural wear within ten years, we will replace it for free.

Digital Profile

How do I set up the profile page?

When your plate arrives, you scan it with your phone to begin. It will guide you through a simple setup where you can upload a profile picture, write a biography, and add a gallery of photos. It is designed to be as easy as using social media.

Can I change the photos later?

Yes. You are in full control of the page. You can log in to your dashboard at any time to add new photos, update the story, or change the layout. The physical QR code on the stone stays the same, but the information people see can grow and change over time.

Is the information public?

That is up to you. You can choose to make the profile public so anyone who scans the code or searches for the name can see the tribute. You can also choose to make it private so only people with a password can view it.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Our system is built on modern and secure cloud technology. We ensure your data is backed up and safe so the legacy stays online for others to see.

Orders & Shipping

How long does shipping take?

We know you might need this for a funeral or ceremony. We ship all orders within one to two business days. Most customers in the United States receive their plate within three to five days.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Because our memorial plates are customized products made specifically for your order, we do not accept returns or offer refunds if you change your mind. However, we stand behind our quality. If your product arrives damaged or if there is a manufacturing error, please contact us right away and we will send a replacement at no cost to you.
